The Boutique Hotel “George Molfetas”
The building itself is a work of masonry constructed
before 1895, comprising of a main body of 6 large rooms.
The walls are still 60 cm thick, the doors and windows
feature massive stone framings, the lines are clear-cut
and have the same proportions as at the time when they
were designed. The only things that have been changed are
elements that promote luxury, technology and
superstructure. As the project was financed by the European
Community funds for the redevelopment of traditional
buildings of high environmental value, all care has been
placed in the best possible maintenance and re-enforcement
of the building itself. All rooms have been fitted with
private bathrooms with either baths or jet-showers. The
central heating is backed up by wood burners in four of the
rooms and air conditioners in all rooms. All furniture is
authentic, hand made work of craftsmanship of times ranging
from 1790 to 1950. Persian rugs have been brought from the
far east from several members of the owners families and
Murano chandeliers were brought all the way from Smyrne and
Venice. However special care has been taken also to
provide the best possible technology for our guests’
convenience and enjoyment. |
